Delete your Vibe Tutor data

You can ask us to delete the Vibe Tutor data we keep on our servers. Vibe Tutor has no user accounts, and most of its data stays on your teen's device.

When the AI features are used, our backend on Google Cloud (Cloud Run, with records in Firestore) receives chat messages so it can answer them. Chat text itself is not stored. The backend does keep any safety reports you send, AI usage counters and pending request records. These records are linked to a hashed installation ID, not to a name or email.

A parent or guardian can send the request for a teen.

How to ask

Using a version older than 1.5.25? Older versions don't have the "Delete my data" button or a support ID. To ask us to delete server data, email support@vibe-tech.org with the subject "Vibe Tutor data deletion request". Without a support ID, we usually can't link server records to your device, so pseudonymous counters and reports may remain. We'll reply within 7 days and delete anything we can identify within 30 days. To remove data stored on the device, go to Android Settings > Apps > Vibe Tutor > Storage > Clear storage, or uninstall the app. Updating to the latest version gives you the in-app "Delete my data" option.

• If the app is still installed: open Parent Dashboard > Data Management. Your support ID is shown there, with a Copy button. Tap Delete my data. This opens an email to support@vibe-tech.org with the subject "Vibe Tutor data deletion request" and your support ID already filled in. Just send it.
• If the app isn't installed anymore: email support@vibe-tech.org with the subject "Vibe Tutor data deletion request". Include your support ID if you saved it. Without it, we can't link our server records to you, because we keep only a hashed ID. In that case, pseudonymous usage counters and reports may stay on our servers until we remove them.

What we delete

• Safety reports you submitted, including any message text attached to them
• Pending AI request records
• AI usage counters linked to your installation, for every day and month since Vibe Tutor launched

What we may keep, and for how long

• Hosting and security logs (IP address, time and request path, with no message text written by our code). Server logs are kept for 30 days, then deleted automatically.
• Backups: none. We do not keep backups of server data. Deleted records cannot be recovered after one hour.
• Anything kept by the AI providers we share requests with (OpenRouter, DeepSeek and Google Gemini), under their own terms. We ask OpenRouter for zero data retention.
• If you can't give us a support ID: pseudonymous usage counters and reports that we can't link to you, until we remove them
• Google Play purchase records, which Google holds

Apart from server logs, we don't delete server data automatically. We remove it when you ask us to.

Data on the device

We can't delete this remotely. Uninstall the app, or go to Android Settings > Apps > Vibe Tutor > Storage > Clear storage.

Purchases

Vibe Tutor is a one-time $4.99 purchase. Deleting your data doesn't refund or remove that purchase, because Google Play keeps the record.

How long it takes

We'll confirm your request within 7 days and finish within 30 days.
